Still going strong

More than 25 years ago, Penelope Bertelsen started Penelope's House of Fashion
in the same location as it is today. Her daughter Rachelle Bertelsen has taken over
the business, and constantly diversifies the stock to change with the demand of
Penelope's customers.

Offering a wide range of styles and sizes and providing excellent customer service
is the secret of Penelope's success. All women in the shop are able to help you find
the right colour or style of garment that suits your body style, skin tone and hair
colour. It's like having a personal stylist!

In 2010, Penelope's of Otaki received an extensive interior make-over to reflect the
elegance it deserves. The current lay-out features a modern ambience, better
lighting and larger fitting rooms.

Over the years, our customer base has grown immensely - from local regulars,
to customers from the Wairarapa, Wellington, Palmerston North and beyond.
